Prof. Dr. Md. Said Bin Zainol

Professor Said graduated with a PhD in Econometrics from the University College of Wales, Aberystwyth United Kingdom in 1991. He has an MBA from the Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium and a BSc from the University of Malaya. Professor Said is a member of Malaysian Mathematical Society (PERSAMA), Management Science & Operations Research Society, Malaysia (MSORSM), Malaysian Institute of Statistics (ISM) and the Royal Statistical Society, United Kingdom.

Professor Said joined the Al-Madinah International University on 21 March 2022 and is assigned to teaching and supervising PhD and Masters students. He joined Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) in 1975 and went into compulsory retirement in 2005; after which was reemployed on a contract basis for 10 years.

Professor Said’s administrative assignments at UiTM include as Principal of an ITM Branch Campus; Assistant Director of Students’ Affairs of ITM; and Head, Department of Statistics & Decision Sciences, UiTM. His academic assignments at UiTM include lectures in Statistical Theory, Stochastic Models, Econometric Modelling & Forecasting, Managerial Decision Analysis, Forecasting and Econometrics. Within the period from 2005 to 2015, Professor Said successfully supervised seven PhD candidates and was internal examiner for UiTM candidates as well external examiner for 3 candidates in Universiti Utara Malaysia.

In professional consulting Professor Said played major roles as consultant and project head in 64 consulting projects from 1998 to 2022. He was also actively involved in the construction of the Malaysian Integrity Index (Malaysian Institute of Integrity) and Indeks Syariah Malaysia (JAKIM).
